Job Description

Our client a Big 4 Firm based in the Channel Islands is looking for a Private Client Tax Manager.

Job purpose:

The private client tax manager will run a portfolio of clients addressing both their tax compliance and advisory needs. This manager will also be responsible for developing a team of associates and actively working to establish our services in the Channel Islands market.

Accountabilities:

The needs of our private clients are diverse; therefore, the requirements of the role are broad and cover a variety of UK, Guernsey, Jersey, and international tax. Specific types of work that the ideal candidate would be able to manage include:

-UK tax compliance for non-resident companies, trusts, and individuals with a particular focus on the move of NRL’s to UK Corporation Tax.
-HNWI advisory services predominantly focussed on issues of residence and domicile.
-UK and international tax advisory services to trustees, including tax health checks.
-Tax risk identification projects as part of tax due diligence or internal review.
-Guernsey & Jersey personal tax and corporate income tax where associated with private client structures.
-Developing and motivating our team and further enhancing our status within all the markets in which we work.

Candidate requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience in UK private client tax and an interest in joining an expanding team with huge growth opportunity. Key attributes include a positive and flexible attitude and an openness to expand their skill set with regard to tax technical knowledge and in terms of coaching, business development, and leadership. Specific desired attributed include:

-Preferably trained in a “big 4” environment
-Appropriate professional qualification – ACA/CTA/ACCA
-At least 2 years of post qualification experience in either a UK or Channel Islands tax environment with experience in UK private client tax work
-Experience managing multiple projects and team members
-Strong interpersonal, leadership, and people development skills
-Excellent written and presentation skills
-Self-motivation
-An interest and desire to be involved in activities in the marketplace to help grow both your personal brand.
